About this game

Have you ever smelled the beignets before even spotting the stand? This hidden object game puts you at dawn, facing the counter, where the pink and golden sun rises on the right and slants across the scene. Under the green and white awning, the strings of yellow bulbs still hold their warmth, and in the distance the spires of the cathedral rise through a rosy haze.

Your gaze begins on the left, where a man in a red apron watches over a large pan of bubbling oil. Farther on, crates of vegetables in shades of purple and brown spill toward the edge of the image. In the center, white boxes dusted with powdered sugar, cloth sacks, and a stack of white cups draw the eye, while the golden copper and dark wood of the counter catch the light on the right. The flat areas of color and crisp black outlines give the whole scene the look of a linocut.

To move forward, sweep the scene zone by zone, from left to right, pausing on the cluttered areas. Objects often blend into neighboring colors, some are turned, tilted, or upside down, and reflections on metal or sugar can give away their presence. If you get stuck, the hint and the zoom are there to help.

The list of objects is at the bottom of the screen. This free online game plays just as well on a computer as on a phone, and this visual puzzle can be taken at whatever pace you like. Happy hunting, and bon appétit in advance.
