How to play hidden object games

A hidden object game can be summed up in one sentence: find, in a big picture, the objects whose names are shown. Here is everything you need to know to get off to a good start, whether you're playing hidden objects, hidden letters or hidden numbers.

Free and in your own language
Every game is in French, then translated into the language of the country you play from.

Finding the objects

At the bottom of the screen, the game shows you four objects to look for, with their name and a small picture. When you spot one of them in the scene, click on it (or tap it with your finger on a tablet or phone). The object lights up, disappears from the list and a new object to look for takes its place. The game ends when you've found all the objects you were asked for.

In hidden numbers, hidden digits or hidden letters games, there is no list: numbers (or letters) are slipped into the picture, more or less transparent. Click on each one as soon as you spot it, in any order you like. It disappears, and the game ends when you've found them all.

Zooming and moving around

Some objects are tiny. To take a closer look, use your mouse's scroll wheel, or spread two fingers apart on a tablet or phone. Drag the picture to move around the scene.

Hints

You start with two hints, then you earn one more every two minutes of play. A hint shows the area where one of the objects you're looking for is hidden. Hints cost a few points, but they keep you from getting stuck.

Points

Every object you find earns you points. A wrong click loses you a few, and so does a hint, while finishing quickly gives you a small bonus. But there's no countdown: you can take all the time you want.

Replaying a scene

Every game has you look for all the objects in the scene, in a different order each time: replaying a scene means a whole new hunt. Your browser keeps your best score, with no account or sign-up.

Which device can I play on?

On a computer, tablet or phone, in any recent browser. Nothing to install. The bigger the screen, the more enjoyable the search.

Frequently asked questions

Are the games really free?

Yes. All the hidden object, hidden letters and hidden numbers games are free, with no sign-up or download. The ads shown on the site help keep it running.

I can't find an object, what should I do?

Scan the picture area by area, zoom in on the cluttered corners and keep an eye out for objects that are turned or half hidden. If you're still stuck, a hint shows the area where it is.

Is my game saved?

Your browser remembers the scenes you've finished (they're checked in the lists) and your best score on each one, with no account. If you switch devices or clear your browser data, everything starts over from scratch.

Are the games suitable for children?

Yes. The pictures are family-friendly and the object names stay simple. The hidden letters games are even a lovely way to play with the alphabet.
